While brakes (56%) and tires (20%) were the first and second choice for safety, male respondents were more likely to answer "tires" than females surveyed (F 15% M 27%).

While it appears that Americans keep their tire gauges handy and ready to use (Car 60%, Garage 13%), a good number of those surveyed don't even own one! They must be relying upon another source to make sure their tires are running proper psi!

Whether they check themselves or have an expert do it, majority of Americans are practicing good tire habits with 40% of respondents checking their tire pressure once a month. In general, men seemed to check more often than women.

Again, it appears that Americans are taking good care of their black, round investments with more than one-third (39%) rotating their tires every 6,000 miles and 20% rotating every 3,000 miles.

Even in this fast-paced age of e-commerce, Americans still prefer to shop traditional methods and to close the deal with a hand shake.

Of the 46% that primarily look for honesty/trustworthiness in an automotive service center, women (53%) were more likely than men (39%) to say this was the most important trait.
