Columbiana, Ohio
Harvey S. Firestone was born on a farm near Columbiana, Ohio on December 20, 1868. Located in the eastern part of the state, the Firestone farm was started as a homestead by Harvey's great grandfather, Nicholas, in 1797. In 1804, it was expanded by 640 acres through a land grant deeded to him by President Thomas Jefferson. The home you see pictured was built in 1828 and is said to be one of the first brick homes in the state.
